List and board views
Opening tasks Navigate to Work → Tasks . You land on a view showing tasks you can access — assigned to you, watched by you, or all team tasks if permission allows. Scopes and filters Toolbar filters narrow the set: Common scopes My tasks — assigned to you; default for individual contributors Watching — tasks you follow without owning All tasks — managers see team workload (permission required) By project — limit to one initiative Field filters Status — open vs completed Assignee — who owns work Due date — overdue, today, this week Search — title text Combine filters before standup: “my overdue” or “all open in Project X.” Filter state may persist in the link for shareable views. List view List view presents sortable rows — title, assignee, due date, status, project. Best for: Bulk status updates Quick scans in meetings Finding one task by keyword quickly Click a row for detail drawer or page with comments and history. Board view Switch to board view for column-based work. Columns map to statuses — drag cards between columns to advance work. Best for: Visual work-in-progress limits (“too much in In Progress?”) Project coordinators scanning bottlenecks Agents who think in sticky-note columns Board view respects the same filters — filter to your assignments before dragging others’ cards. Creating tasks New task from toolbar: 1. Title with verb-first naming (“Upload Saadat photos”) 2. Assignee — default yourself or pick colleague 3. Due date — realistic buffer 4. Project — optional but recommended for reporting 5. Description — acceptance criteria (“min 8 photos, watermark off”) Save — assignee gets notification if not you. Completing tasks Mark done from list row, detail page, or board column drag to Done. Some setups require resolving dependencies first — blocked tasks show waiting-on hints. Completed tasks fall out of default open filters but remain searchable for retrospectives. Daily habits Morning — filter my tasks due today; knock out quick wins before showings. Midday — board view for shared project; move blocked items needing help. Weekly — managers filter all tasks overdue by assignee for coaching. List vs board decision guide | Choose list when… | Choose board when… | |-------------------|---------------------| | You need sort by due date | Status flow matters | | Text search dominates | Work-in-progress visibility matters | | Mobile narrow screen | Facilitating team meeting | Toggle freely — same underlying tasks. Permissions nuances Creating tasks for others may need assign permission. Completing tasks might be limited to assignee or project lead. If drag on board fails, you likely lack update permission — comment asking owner to move status. Integration Tasks link from notifications (assigned, mentioned, due soon). Customer/listing links may appear when tasks reference client records in description or custom fields. Tasks complement client records — they do not replace logging client outcomes on customers. Mastering views and filters keeps internal projects as visible as client-facing pipelines.
